Note: The dramatic large scale of the etching plates that Miró was able to use in the late 1970’s and the extreme invention and energy with which he worked the plate surface make his etchings of this period amongst the most exciting of his long oeuvre. The complications of printing them, bringing out the extraordinary range of fine strokes and tones which animate the whole plate surface and then keeping the ink colours in balance over the surface, meant that he could only print very small editions.
Superb impression with dramatic colour and inking. Outstandingly fine condition. On pale cream wove Arches paper. Worked to the full sheet size using an oversize plate.
Sheet: 1160 x 735mm.
