Note: The composition is based on Chagall's 1951 painting of the same subject and the theme is based on the 19th century Russian poem ‘The Gypsies’ by Alexander Pushkin.
Superb impression with brilliant colours on heavy cream wove paper. Generally excellent condition; slight trace of time discolouration and old mount tape on the reverse. Sheet: 555 x 612mm. Plate: 469 x 521mm.
