Lithograph in colours after the 1937 painting of the same title by Chagall. 1963. Signed in the stone. Prepared on the stone by Charles Sorlier under Chagall's supervivion. Proof apart from the edition issued as a poster for exhibition ‘Les peintres témoins de leur temps' at the Musée Galleria, Paris 1963 and before lettering was added. Inscribed in pencil ‘Epreuve de L’Atelier Mourlot’. With the Mourlot Estate Succession stamp on the reverse. Drawn and printed at the Atelier Mourlot, Paris 1963. Provenance: Mourlot Studio archive. Ref: Sorlier - Chagall Posters page 93 illustrated. Excellent impression with very fresh colours. On smooth pale cream wove poster paper. Very fine condition. Never previously framed or mounted.
