Marie Laurencin, 1883-1956
Colour chalk drawing with additional pencil work over lithograph in black. 1927. Signed twice in pencil. Unique in this form.
Provenance: Baron Petiet. The backboard of the original frame with a certificate from Henri Petiet describing the hand-overworked colouring. Petiet was the publisher of many of Laurencin's graphic works.

Note: The lithograph in black was subsequently issued unsigned by Editions Au Sans Pareil, Paris 1927 for the album ‘Le Chien de Pique.
Fine chalk colours over strong lithography. On stiff pale cream wove paper. Generally excellent condition; slightest trace of an old mount line. With margins. Sheet: 336x285mm. Image: 245x210mm.
