Note: There were two editions of this lithograph both issued by Ambroise Vollard in 1896-98. The first is characterised by a rather sombre green tonality. The second, as here,  is in the lighter more lively blue-ish tonality. The two editions were printed one after the other at the same period. It is not known for certain but it is believed that the second edition was printed at the request of Cezanne as he was dissatisfied by the colour range of the first.
