Lithograph in colours. Conceived 1967. Signed ‘F.M.’ in pencil by the
publisher Fernand Mourlot. Signed ‘Magritte’ in the image. Issued in the series
‘The Enchanted World – Domaine
Enchanté’. Numbered from the edition of 350 issued in 1968. Derived
from Magritte’s own world-famous 1954 series of mural paintings at Knokke in
Belgium.
Note: Magritte was working on this series when he died. The images had
been selected but the editions were not completed and printed until the
following year. Mourlot hand-signed the
prints on behalf of Magritte following the agreement with Magritte’s estate.
