Created by Georges Braque working alongside the greatest master colour etching printer in Europe at that period Aldo Crommelynck.

Etching and aquatint in colours. 1950. Signed in pencil by Braque. Numbered in pencil from the edition of 200. With the Crommelynck studio byline in the plate lower left.  Edition issued by Galerie Maeght, Paris 1950.

At this date Braque was very interested in the colour etching medium but he decided to work alongside Crommelynck so as to benefit to the full from the new techniques in the way to work etching plates to achieve extraordinarily brilliant colour tones and effects that Cromelynck had developed. The essay in 'Dix Ans d'Editions' describes the extensive interaction of artist and master etching technician.
