Original colour stencil print. 1934. From the original issue in ‘Cahiers d’Art’ nos 1 - 4. Created by Miró and printed at the studio of Crété, Paris 1934. The edition size of this first issue is not known. Fine impressions with fresh unfaded colours are now very scarce.

Superb exceptionally fresh impression with brilliant colour. Very slight traces of time at the sheet edges. Ink surface extremely fresh and virtually scuff free - one short scuff only visible ‘at an angle’ upper right. Image to full sheet size, as issued. Without binding marks. 339 x 275mm.

Note: There was a subsequent issue from the same stencils in an edition of 48 hand-signed by Miró

Composition Surréaliste Rouge and the companion composition Composition Surréaliste Bleu are the two most famous colour stencil prints by Miró from this era.
